Orchestral composer for fantasy worlds and story-driven games
For the past five years I've been writing and studying orchestral music, building a portfolio of original compositions inspired by fantasy worlds, mythology, gothic imagery, and spiritual themes. Alongside this, I've played guitar in metal bands since my teenage years, which has influenced the energy and structure of my writing.
While developing my skills, I have reached the finals of a few composition competitions and continue to develop my craft through personal projects.
My work is focused on creating music that supports worldbuilding and storytelling. I aim to write pieces that feel connected to a place, a character, or a specific moment in a journey.
My portfolio includes fictional game soundtrack pieces covering a range of in-game needs - battle themes, exploration music, title themes, and narrative cues.
My musical influences include the sweeping orchestral soundscapes of World of Warcraft, the dark atmospheric world of Dark Souls, and the emotional storytelling found in Ori and the Blind Forest.
Alongside orchestral music, I am influenced by fantasy-inspired metal, particularly bands such as Bal-Sagoth, Wintersun, and Xanthochroid, whose approach to atmosphere and narrative continues to shape my writing.
Outside of music, I hold a degree in Software Engineering and enjoy the creative and technical aspects of building interactive experiences. This background helps me understand how music fits into the broader structure of a game and how it connects with gameplay and narrative.
Originally from Scotland and now based in Thailand, I work remotely and collaborate with teams internationally.
I am currently available for new projects.
My focus is on working closely with indie development teams, contributing to the musical identity of a game from early development through to release.
My ideal project is a fantasy game created by a small, dedicated team where music plays an important role in atmosphere, storytelling, and player experience.
